Is the tap water suitable for drinking?
When Land’s Hause was constructed some three years ago, a deep, underground, fresh water reservoir was built especially to accommodate ample supplies of fresh drinking water. The water is also used to water the village’s sub-tropical vegetation and lawns twice a day.
What are the Fire Hazards in this part of Portugal?
Unlike the Algarve and other tourist areas of Spain and Portugal, Land’s Hause is situation in the central plains and consequently has heavier rainfall and less extreme high temperatures; therefore, the water-table is much higher and with occasional sea mists creating a less dry atmosphere fire is unlikely, just looking at the lush, green, landscape and abundance of well cared for green forests prove that fire risk is low.
Are there any local fire precautions?
When Land’s Hause village was constructed special attention was given to the location, especially since the village is located in a Pine and Eucalyptus forest, to ensure that there wouldn’t be a fire hazard. To that end, the village is surrounded by a large pressurised fire-main water pipe and strategically placed fire hydrants and hoses are throughout the village, in addition to which, the pipe network and the equipment is maintained and monitored by the National Fire Brigade.
What about any local drug or criminal problems existing?
None of these problems are evident in the local area and Land’s Hause guests are asked to refrain from behaving in an inappropriate manner.
What are Land’s Hause Rules and Regulations?
The following list is not limited; the Land Hause owner is free to adapt it at any time.
- No wandering dogs or other animals
- No noise after midnight
- No vehicles in the village after sunset
- During daylight hours the speed limit within the village is 5 kilometres per hour and at the discretion of the management
- No nudism
- No fighting
